The Starting Line is taking a break

The Starting Line will take a break after their tour with Bayside, Four Year Strong and Steel Train, the band announced in an online press conference over at Absolutepunk.net on Wednesday.

"This is one of the most difficult decisions we’ve had to make but after eight years of nonstop touring and recording The Starting Line will be taking a break... This break does NOT mean the band is breaking up or going on hiatus it just means were going to stop for a little while and focus on other things in our lives besides The Starting Line. This break may last a year, two years or a few months, as of right now we don’t know. We’re talking to some friends about doing a quick tour to South America as well as options to tour Europe, Japan and Australia again and we're not ruling them out. We just aren’t going to be doing any full time touring or recording as The Starting Line for a while."

The band cited tumultuous label relationships as one of the major reasons they're stepping back to reassess their future.

The good news? There are plans to drop a previously unreleased album that they recorded for We The People Records—and a possible DVD as well. And everyone in the band has side projects, so it's not like they're dropping off the face of the earth. Sigh.

TSL is also heading out on tour very soon—better snatch those tickets just in case they don't come back again. 'Cause I mean, we've all been through break-ups and we know what "taking a break" can POTENTIALLY lead to... just sayin'.

Unfortuntly I don't like the other bands very much but I really want to see The Starting Line. Hopefully this isn't the end for them!

If it is I'll cry when they play "Best of Me"
or Left Coast Envy
or Drama Summer.

As you can tell, I'm still quite attached to SILYMI

SILYMI is my favorite CD of theirs too. All those songs are beautiful and easy to relate to.
Tears will definitely be shed over Left Coast Envy.

This is a little upsetting. The world isn't gonna end, but it'll still suck if they're gone forever. Hah.

Thank God I'm going to one of these shows. It's a pretty sweet lineup, too. Steel Train are amazing live, and I can't wait to see them with TSL again.

You forgot the March 18th show in State College. But it's ok. I would forget that little town too.

My friends and I already have tickets.
