All Time Low keep pop-punk alive with L.A. show

HOLLYWOOD-- Tuesday night the Alternative Press tour hit Tinsel Town! It started kind of ridiculously early (anyone who caught Forever The Sickest Kids or Sonny, drop a comment and I’ll include your review!), but I dashed in as those glorious boys from The Matches were taking the stage. The design school dropout in me gets giddy about their color coordination. OK, and red/black/white is my favorite color scheme.

Their set wasn’t really long enough to satisfy my needs, but they split it evenly between songs from Decomposer and new tunes from A Band in Hope. To be perfectly honest, I never got into Decomposer because I was too busy developing oppositional interests from my frienemies—the time to re-explore The Matches, my friends, is now. They played "We Are One" which is a FANTASTIC crowd-engaging song, as well as "Wake the Sun." I REALLY wanted them to play "If I Were You" or "Between Halloweens" but ah well, all the more motivation to catch them next time around.

The Rocket Summer were up next—can I be shallow for a moment? The first thing I see of when I see Bryce Avary is "day-um, can I get some product recommendations?" He has PERFECTLY WHITE TEETH and smooth, shiny, perfectly straightened hair. I’ve never really been into TRS, but I really think their live show is the selling point for them. The synergy between the band and the crowd makes you go "F---- yeah, I want to be part of this!" I am a fan. I am converted.

Before All Time Low came out on stage, there was a "public service announcement" that when through a slew of obscenities that might be used, and if you are offended, "you should leave, because it’s our show, you f----ing pu---,"— or something of that nature. The banner behind them were filled with obscenities, too.

I got in the crowd so I could get some closer pics and like, get a workout holding ground against the pit kids. I love every song of theirs, so it’s hard to pick out highlights, BUT the banter between Alex and Jack rivals any song.

"I haven’t gotten any bras thrown at me tonight," said Jack between songs.

"That’s because we’re in L.A. Girls in L.A. don’t wear bras. They wear trendy tops with pasties," said Alex, "At least… that’s what I wear when I go out in L.A."

And then Jack got a few bras:

Some girl held up a sign that said, "I'll suck your di-- for a pick," so Alex jokingly threw out 50 picks for "50 b---jobs."

Their cover of Rihanna’s "Umbrella" was quality and mygod, I cannot wait for Punk Goes Crunk! They played "Remembering Sunday" as the encore, and it was just… a perfect ending. They sounded amazing and the crowd energy made the show 5x more fun. Long live pop-punk!

I was there and it was AWESOME!
I had just arrived when Forever the Sickest Kids started playing. I've heard a couple of their songs and thought they were good. Their performance was cool I thought they did a great job. I think they've made me a fan because their energy onstage got me really pumped up.
Unfortunately I cannot say the same for Sonny. I mean I was never really a fan of From First To Last but now I don't think I'll ever be a fan of Sonny at all. I mean his first song was just weird I thought it sounded kind of high pitched like a girl. Well there are no real words to describe his performance I just thought it was bad. No offense to anyone who likes him or anything. Everyone has their own taste in music and obviously him and I just don't click. I honestly don't think anyone was really into his performance I mean some guy in back of me even yelled, "You F---ing suck! Get off the stage!" I felt bad but it was kind of true. Then you have his two stage dives into the crowds which I thought was his way of getting the people to participate in his performance but besides the girls next to me who kept making fun of him the whole time I don't think anyone was really enjoying it.
Then we had The Rocket Summer whom once again I've only%

I don't like the Matches nor did I get them. But on my smoke breaks I saw them hanging out by their bus and was totally impressed with their costumes. Haha. && sad but true I had to leave after 2 all time low songs. i did hear their psa though, it was hucking filarious. something on the stage said cock & balls and i loved it hahaha

Oh I went to the 4/15 show.. and I met the Sickest Kids.. they were super nice.. and the show they played live was fabulous! Great vocals. I would love to see them live again. Sonny Moore was OK.. he kind of ran all over the venue, and slapping peoples hands. It was fun though. All Time Low was the most obcene but funny show ever. They came by, and my friend fell in love with Jack. hahah. The Matches = Great live performance.. really great crowd energy. Plus The Rocket Summer seemed to be the main attraction for every concert-goer
