Gym Class Heroes 'Cast' Guests on New Album

Gym Class Heroes have been tossing out breadcrumbs about their upcoming LP, The Quilt, to get you stoked on it. The latest details reveal some of the guests lending lending their pipes, including Ne-Yo, Lil Wayne, John Oates, K-OS and Busta Rhymes. Just don't call them features, says Travis McCoy. From Billboard:

"I can't speak for everyone but I hate seeing lots of features on an album. So, instead we're having a movie aesthetic, where everyone is going to be part of the cast as opposed to being featured. You won't know who is on the album just by looking at the liner notes. You'll know only if you listen and recognize the person's voice. This way, people know we didn't do stuff for name sake, but really because that person belonged on that song."

Oh Travie, I do like your attitude.

McCoy also dropped some specifics on the new tunes, mentioning that "Fly With Me" is a dedication to a cousin of his who committed suicide last year. "Live a Little" is a carpe diem sort of song inspired by his new perspective on life – he went through a detox program for drug addiction in recent months.

Get ready for some voice recognition exercise, mah babies, 'cause I don't think I'd know Ne-Yo from Lil Wayne. (But I DO know the difference between a Beckett and a Stump, for purposes of clarification.)

What do you think about this approach? Does not listing guests lend to some mystery and a little bit of work on the listeners part, or is it just inconvenient until someone gets it right on their Wikipedia entry?

I wouldn't mind a Beckett, or a Stump on it.
In fact, I encourage it.

I thought it was Daryl Hall that was "lending their pipes". After all, Daryl and Travie are BFFs.

He's handsome. I think I saw his pics on Rich kiss.com. And the profile is attractive, sincere and sexy. Maybe it's kidding. Maybe he's lonely? Who knows the fact?

I'm excited for Busta Rhymes. That track should be pretty sick.
And good for Travie going through detox. I'm proud of you!
