MTV VMA Prep with Alex Gaskarth

The time is near. The 2008 MTV VMAs air this Sunday, September 7th and we are gonna be all up in their business. In case you missed the memo, Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low is Buzznet's red carpet host! Alex came into L.A. a few days ago and stopped by Buzznet to talk about the VMA nominees and such. Also? He wants to make out with every artist up for the award for best Female Video of the 2008 VMA's.

Beloved Buzznet band Paramore is up for Best Rock Video and will be performing durng the show. "Man, this is going to be the first performance we've ever done at any awards show. And I'm glad it's at the VMAs, because we've all grown up watching them. And there's always huge things happening and artists blowing up and doing crazy, ridiculous stunts," Hayley Williams told MTV.

Britney Spears is opening the entire ceremony, but NOT with a performance -- we've been doing some ruminating on what she could possibly have in store for us.

If you're a poor sap who doesn't have cable, Ashly and Gwen will be liveblogging the event. Huzzah. I think we're ready!
