Lily Lookin' Out For the Kids

Our fav little loudmouth, Lily Allen, has taken aim at The Black Eyed Peas.

People UK has her quoted, saying singer Fergie is "pathetic and ridiculous"

And about lady-lump glorifying track: "It's not good for seven-year-olds to be going 'My humps, my humps, my lovely lady lumps'. It's not about music, it's about sex."

Lily Allen vs. My Humps

Ms. Allen took a stab at Black Eyed Peas track, "My Humps" saying it was disgusting, and no good for the kids listening to it.

Ugh. I admit modern music, like those sexually explicit songs by bands like black eyed peas, show you how totally low-grade people are. Sex is not funny. At least here we have the right to choose who we have sex with, and we take that for granted and abuse that priveledge. Think about countries where people are forced to have sex and raped on a daily basis. That is not a laughing matter.i'm going to delete that song from my ipod right now, cause i don't listen to it anyways. Once again, lily allen has something intelligable to say, even though she is drunk more than quite often.

Usually I'd agree with her, but she's being a bit of a hypocrite. I'm sure seven-year-olds listen to her explicit songs, too.
Little kids are exposed to everything these days, it's just a fact of life.

It's not just 'My Humps' it's everything anymore. It's almost impossible to find a song that doesn't in someway involve sexual actions.

People need to grow up and sing about things that actually MATTER, not over-produced crap that only talk about women and men as if they're nothing more than sexual objects.

I saw two little kids dancing and singing to this on their front lawn one day. ohdear.

Anyway, Lily is right, but it's impossible to avoid now. Kids will be exposed to this as long as it is prominent in popular culture.

that's very very true.
But, I think that they are trying to appeal to a specific audience: hoes.
lol.
I'm kidding.

What you said is dead on...
but unfortunately if artists began singing about real issues
their sales would probably go down and they wouldn't make
a lot of money.
It's the sad reality.
True, but then again, bands like Anti-Flag sing about real issues and they (as far as I know) have pretty good sales.
Most artists only seem to care about making money, not making a change or inspiring teens and pre-teens to do something with themselves.
Well....Besides get 'crunk'.

Music artists can write/sing whatever they please. Its not their fault that some songs are inappropriate to certain people, but other people might like it. So if you don't like a certain music artist/song, don't listen to them!

It's impossible to even attempt to avoid things these days; my soon to be stepsister (who is 3) sings that song all the time. She claims it's her favorite song.

See, that's why I don't like rap; it's all about sex, drugs, someone getting shot, or girl's asses.

ok im not a big fan of rap, but all the genres of music have something to do with sex, drugs, violence, or asses...rap, country, pop, r&b, ROCK...hello, EVRYTHING HAS EVERYTHING IN IT NOW.

oh and about Lily Allen, ok she sings about explicit things too...sooo.. why is she saying that about BEP, when there is worse music a kid could listen too, like the song candyman by xtina (which i love) BUT its not for kids really, which alot of younder girls here sing to, or the pussycat dolls...shit, threres a whole freakin list of songs worse than my humps

lily is just being lily....this is why we love lily..for her catty comments..lol..long live lily allen..
takendowninchicago: 06/12/2007 4:29 AM
that's Lily for ya. BEP isn't all about crap like how men love Fergie's 'humps'. besides, Lily can't have kids listening to her songs either.
Erica Owens: 06/12/2007 6:55 AM
i thiiiink that lily may just be a bit of a drama queen. no offense but it seems like every single quote coming from her lately is either offending someone else or her being a martyr. she must crave the attention.
victoriaofficial: 06/12/2007 7:24 AM
i ADMIT THAT MY HUMPS IS A LITTLE TOO BAD FOR CHILDREN TO BE LISTENING!
MY LITTLE SISTER SINGS THAT SONG.WHO GIVES A CRAP!
THEY ARE MORE POPULAR THAN HER ANYWAYS!
pariskiss: 06/12/2007 7:45 AM
Lol, doesn't Christina have an album out called 'Stripped'?
And she's like half naked on all of her pictures :/
But all of these people have gotten major famous from these songs and if they got major famous once they're gonna try and do it again..
Not that it really matters to me...
punkroxx01: 06/12/2007 10:21 AM
what about that song candyshop? i saw a first grader singing that the other day. first grader. this craps ridiculous, first graders are supposed to sing all that girl scouty stuff about little bunny foo foo or mary poppin, or whatever it is. personally i dont think that my humps is a good song for kids, or any other modern, rap, reggae, hip hop, whatever is good for kids. when i was younger, the only BEP song people liked to sing was where is the love? which is a really good song. but since fergie joined, it has been alot more sexual, and thats not good to have a band younger kids like suddenly become for more mature audiences.
ninaisalittlehorror: 06/12/2007 11:19 AM
there isn't anything anyone can do about it, there aren't enough people who want to do anything about it, because BEP, PCD, and all of those other artists happen to be what is considered all of the popular music. No one wants to listen to bands who are actually making a statement (such as Anti-Flag) because they don't like the style of the bands. The only popular artists that have brought attention what is going on in the world is Green Day... and no one bothers to really think about what they're songs mean. I personally don't like GD anymore, but I still think they're songs prove a point. We're all fucked up, and no one wants to do a thing about it.
