• This weekend Lil caused a ruckus @ Notting Hill Carnival in London when she "jumped up on stage during [Bobby] Kray's performance and wrestled the mic from him before shoving the bewildered singer into the crowd." An audience member told The Sun: "Lily looked very drunk and was talking in a bad Jamaican accent. " WHAT? And no one got video of Lily speaking in her bad jamaican accent? Weak sauce. But the punishment for being a lush fit her crime-- Kray dumped a pint of Guinness over her head. Hahah.

I just found out on Evil Beet that Lindsay Lohan is getting off easy for all her, um, summer antics.

In a story that's somewhat confusing, some of Joe Trohman's killer riffs were leaked. For the uninformed masses, Joe is Fall Out Boy's lead guitarist.

It happened because some dudes in the hotel they were staying in were snooping through other guests' iTunes. Those dudes were in a band you probably haven't heard of, but they're probably enjoying this "insider" info-- BUT they say the riffs are excellllllent.

Joe sez: "At first ... I freaked out, had a terrible pit in my stomach, so to speak. I have an extreme lack of confidence in myself, and am very private about my little things I recorded for self-satisfaction. With that being said, I'm also bad with computers. I had no clue my iTunes was on 'Share Mode,' " he wrote. "But upon reading Liars' blog, it was really cool hearing some positive feedback about something that I never planned on showing anyone. Definitely really flattering. I back that band, and AIH, so it's cool to hear that stuff from bands I like. Either way, I went into my preferences and turned the sharing off. Looks like Lillith Fair got a makeover: Debuting in Irvine, CA on October 27th of this year, the Girlfrenzy Festival is towing Avril Lavigne, Sheryl Crow and Fiona Apple as headliners.

CA kids who are into this idea of an estrogen-fest need to know that tix go on sale this Saturday (8/25) and "a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital."

I personally tend to gravitate towards female vocalists (or whiny pop-punk vox) because they're more fun to car-sing to-- if that rings true for you, then you might wanna join Triinu's new Buzznet group, Female vocalists fans. Get in there and appreciate, girlzzzz.

Season 3, Episode 2: I am happy to report this episode was GOOD! Highlights:


- The poetic ("truth and time tells all") and aspiring shampoo model, Justin Bobby.  He's like a man with special powers-- he can burp, he can be rude and disrespectful, but with one toss of those locks over his shoulder *whoosh* all is forgotten and the damsel (Audrina) is again smitten. The good news? He left his beret at home this time.


- Lo quote of the episode: "Eat your pinkberry and enjoy life!" Amen, Lo, amen.

- Lauren as overbearing best friend. Yeah, I know she gets crap for sticking her nose in everyone else's business, but it's not like she's off the mark-- her friends do date jerks. Thing is, when you're falling for a jerk, you could really care less what your friends think. I'm just sayin' at least Lauren is concerned, and not cheering on scandal like the Jen Bunney/Brody debacle.

- Stand by your man decorating decisions. First Spencer lets some sub-par graffiti-artist vomit all over the wall, then he purchases a vintage video game with a big ugly insect on the side. Heidi is peeved he's making all this apartment-related decisions without her. He calls all these things "surprises".... SO one day he comes home and Heidi has white paint and is painting over that fugly Hollywood mural! He walks in, his jaw drops, and she's all, "I have a surprise for you!" Hahahaha. High-freakin-five Montag. Well-played. There is hope for you yet.

In a recent interview for XXL mag, Kanye West names Justin Timberlake as his #1 rival and inspiration. But the #1 reason why I love Kanye and his big fat ego? The following quotables:

West, a six-time Grammy winner, tells XXL that he's "never cared about being No. 1." Record sales, he figures, aren't as important as how the music connects with people.

For as many times as I have sneered at the label "emo" (because its soooo overused) Dashboard Confessional definitely fits the criteria. And I've always adored him. Anyway, I recently put up this video of him playing his new single, "Thick as Theives" live, but oh, how it has grown on me in those days since:

I missed "High School Musical 2" on Friday (yeah, I'm way out of the demographic, but I really like Hilary Duff movies, so I will be giving this one a chance) but lots and lots of Buzznet members tuned in. In fact, 17.2 MILLION people tuned in overall, which was record-breaking.

• Maddie went to a HSM2 party, and dressed the part.
• Joellthetroll got starry eyed at the premiere.
• Livingdoll wants to know if you loved it... or hated it.

Good news for Veronica Mars fans! (No, the show is not coming back. I said good news, not FANTASTIC news). Kristen Bell was TV and film's most wanted after her time playing Ms. Mars came to and end-- she got offered a role on both LOST and Heroes! Variety reports that she chose Heroes, and will be playing the Elle, a "sexy, mysterious young lady who has ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.’s past and the future of Claire. Elle will kick off her arc by committing a serious crime, though it’s unclear whether she’s good or bad."

Juicy! Think I could apply to be her stand in? I mean, provided she has some steamy scenes with Milo Ventimiglia, I'd be all over that.

Paris Hilton debuted her clothing line at Kitson yesterday. Even though I'm under no circumstances a "fan" of P. Hilly, I do like to check out "celebrity" clothing lines, so I surfed over to ShopKitsop.com and perused the collection. The verditct: Decently affordable -- coming from a billionaire, and all -- but not that fantabulous. Lots of shiny items.

I haven't a clue what the music obsessed did before mixtapes existed, honestly. I've dedicated a ridiculous amount of time compiling mix cds and iTunes playlist-- but now there's a new kid in town: The Mixtape USB!

The topic of illegal downloading has been rehashed so many times it's hardly even news anymore, but I thought I'd throw this tidbit your way: yesterday Reuters reported that the number one rationalization for downloading (despite being well aware of the risks) is "everyone -- including their parents -- is doing it." That's cute. My mom probably knows I dedicated my life to Napster when it was first released, but my dad can barely turn on a computer himself. Do your 'rents download?

"Almost all of the children surveyed in the 27 European Union member countries as well as in Norway and Iceland said they expect to continue downloading. They also said the risk of downloading a virus was far more dissuasive than the risk of legal proceedings."

Yeah, that's pretty much why I stopped. That and iTunes is way faster, and more ADD than I am miserly with my dough. So my question for you is: what did/would make you stop illegal downloading? If they made a commercial of a virus eating all your Petey pics, would that heed a warning? If Paolo Nutini sobbed through a PSA about how he went without dinner because you downloaded his song, would that hit a nerve?

Thanks to Audrina Partridge, anyway. Let's be honest, she doesn't get much credit. She's the soft-spoken, smiley-faced token brunette on The Hills.


But homegirl has some good taste in music! I remembered she mentioned Ratatat when Hanna Beth interviewed her at the MTV Movie Awards, so I was curious to know what she's tuning into these days.

She immediately answered "The Kooks! I love them!" and also said the new Linkin Park & the Deftones are in regular rotation for her. She'll be hitting up the Marilyn Manson / Slayer / Bleeding Through tour (she's friends with Bleeding Through 'cause they're from O.C.) so if you're heading to that SoCal show, you might see her there rockin' out.

I also asked her: If she could change The Hills theme song, what would she change it to? After a deliberation period that I'm quite sure annoyed some of the surrounding press people (OMG, DONT ASK HER HARD QUESTIONS) she answered: "I love The Knife. A song by The Knife. It's so girly, 'cause it's about girls. It's not too hard, it's just GOOD music." (I think maybe she's referring to the song "Heartbeats" by them, but that's just a shot in the dark.)

Last night Meriah and I attended The Hills Launch press event at the LG House in Malibu. At first we'd heard that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were NOT attending, but right before we left Buzznet, we found out they were showing up for press-- but were not allowed in the party.


When I finally wrangled them, I asked them what music they listen to and Heidi's initial response was "My own!" which caused this weird sort of deja vu moment for me, but then I realized it was the other blonde villain, Paris Hilton, who'd said something identical in an interview."They" also are into Ya Boy, T.I., 80's bands, and urban, rap and hip hop in general. All of a sudden, the abundance of neck bling becomes clear! It's obviously for street cred.  Oh by the way, I asked her if she was going to rap on her album and she said "Yeah, totally. I'll be like yo yo yo."

What's that you say? You're pre-ordering on iTunes at this very second? It's okay friend, I'm with you. Can't wait for Heidi's "own genre" of music.

And just for you, my Hills-loving Spencer-loathing bunch, I asked the man: So, now that you're engaged, does that mean you got rid of your homeboy phone? (You have to watch the video, he rolls his eyes like 8 times, I'll put it up soon!) He said "Oh my gawwwwd, I didn't have a real homeboy phone. It was a joke. I wish I had two phones! The bill for one is enough!" Heidi said she would've thrown it away if he did have one.

"The joke was so skewed," Spencer whined, "Everyone thought it was a player phone. What I was saying was, 'Don't worry Brody, I have a phone you can call.'"

So what he meant was, I have a girlfriend, but I won't forget about you, bro. I mean, thats why I got you the BFFL neck bling. Nothing says bonded like neck bling. Right?

Apparently I missed a Lily Allen sass attack, because Yahoo! is reporting that it's already been removed and she's apologized, which prompted Courtney Love to blog her appreciation.

Lily claimed her site was hacked, and that the hacker allegedly wrote: "I am not bfs (best friends) w/ (with) C (Courtney) Love, one night with her made me realise why Kurt (Cobain) killed himself."

Oooooh, dang.

So C. Love's ever eloquent reponse was "Thanks to Lily Allen for her lovely apologising for having had her MySpace broken into. I wouldn't pick on me if I was Miss Lily, as it wouldn't take TOO much to swat, but we've known each other far too long, like each other far too much and if she was gonna say something nasty she has the acerbic wit and intelligence to say something cutting, that would actually really hurt, not some cliched hoary old chestnut some obsessed blogger would say.
