BritneyBack campaign in full effect

Brit is back in the hospital on a 5150 that her therapist and Mama Spears called. She did NOT try to commit suicide. She had been without sleep since Saturday (supposedly a manic episode, although... I did see an image of her with a pack of Red Bulls. Yo Brit, that ish messes you up. I know-- I drank three in 2 hours and didn't sleep for 2 days)

ANYWAY. This is not about an alleged Red Bull addiction. This is about Lynne Spears laying the smack down. She orchestrated (with the LAPD) this whole intervention. For that, I commend her.

*waves fingers at computer screen* BRITNEY BE HEALED. Look, you can roll your eyes at me all you want but I think homegirl needs all the positive energy she can get. If I have to supply it all myself, so be it!

I THINK THIS CALLS FOR MORE CARE BEARS!

Copy the code below in the comments to send this Care Bear to Britney.

Kanye West, Rihanna on tour

Kanye West and Rihanna together? I'd LOVE to go to that show. I don't much care for N.E.R.D. or Lupe.

Ok, I have nothing else to say, I just wanted to post this tour poster. Ha.

Danny Wood is a liar

So, about that New Kids on the Block reunion... looks like it's happening after all.

The song (its name isn't revealed) plays over a promotional video for the band that says the Kids once had it all – a $1 billion in album sales, millions of fans, with music that "influenced a generation" – but then "walked away from it all." The video next teases the comeback, asking: "Are you ready?" (People)

Eyeroll eyeroll. I'm not going to suffer through it-- it's allllllll you. Come back and report.

Juno boots Alicia Keys

More proof than Juno is made of win: The official movie soundtrack bumped Alicia Keys for the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 this week!

The Rhino soundtrack to "Juno" becomes the label's first No. 1 album on The Billboard 200, moving up 2-1 with a 13% increase to 65,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's the first film soundtrack to top the chart since last year's "Dreamgirls" and the first from an Academy Award best picture nominee since "Titanic" reached the summit on Jan. 24, 1998. (Billboard)

Now I'm not saying Alicia Keys doesn't deserve to be #1, it's just (as stated above) uncommon for a movie soundtrack to snag that spot.

And honestly, I don't think a compilation of such songs wouldn't have climbed as far as it has without the movie-- all the songs fit so well. I think people are wanting to recreate the whole Juno experience after they've seen the movie. Or maybe I'm way off, who knows.

Regardless, another Congrats to the Juno crew!

Buzznet movie review: Over Her Dead Body

Last night I went to a screening of "Over Her Dead Body" starring Eva Longoria Parker and Paul Rudd. I hadn't seen very many previews for it, but that's probably because I watch TV shows on the internet. Anyway. I don't know if my lack of expectations are what always have me leaving the theater happy, but this movie was cute! I laughed out loud (whoa, feels weird to spell that out) on several occasions.

Me + new Panic song = MARRIAGE

Panic at the Disco's first single from Pretty. Odd. titled Nine in the Afternoon was released yesterday (at 9pm, duh) and uh...

I AM KIND OF TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH IT.

Look, I'll be completely honest with you-- I am not Panic's #1 fan. I'm not even fan #436. I don't rank. I've had on-again, off-again affairs with "Lying is the most fun," "Build God," and "I constantly thank God for Esteban." I like to objectify them now and again, because, hey, they're cute.

Most of the time I felt like Panic at the Disco's music (first album) is like a friend I'm into hanging out with, but maybe talks too much and it exhausts me a bit if I can't match that energy level.

But Nine in the Afternoon? It's like auditory narcotics! I'm not effing around here folks, it makes me THAT happy. Top quality FEEL GOOD music! It's like the 2008 version of "Walking on Sunshine" or something.

Please, even if you're not a Panic fan, give it a listen.

Can I get a witness?
Can I get a hell yeah?

Oh and lost pics from the Honda Civic event have been FOUND! Check it.

Gwen Stefani is pregnant!

I think I'm supposed to say "reportedly" but whatev. It's not like rumors of her being preggo happen every other day *coughangelinacough*.

It looks like another little lamb is joining the Stefani-Rossdale household. People magazine reports that Douglas Rossdale, the father of Gwen Stefani's husband, former Bush singer Gavin Rossdale, confirmed that the couple are expecting their second child.

"They and the whole family are delighted," the elder Rossdale reportedly told the magazine. British tabloid newspaper The Sun reported that the singer is 13 weeks pregnant, although a spokesperson for Stefani could not be reached for comment at press time. Stefani, 38, and Rossdale, 40, are the parents of Kingston Rossdale, who will turn 2 in May. (MTV)

It better be a girl this time! We have a mini-Gavin, now the world needs a mini-Gwen! Agree?

I'm excited for her! (But please please please let this not affect the No Doubt album)

Let the Hush Sound heal you

The first single off The Hush Sound's forthcoming "Goodbye Blues" has arrived on MySpace! It's called "Medicine Man" and hot damn, it's GOOD.

There's a "medicine man" profile over on friendsorenemies... have you checked it out? Peculiar...

Anyway, I'm genuinely stoked for this album (March 18th!)-- I got to hear a bit of it a week ago when Bob came by Buzznet and Lizy flagged me down for a little listening party.

So what do you think? Are you into it?

Comments from Michael Cook's mother

I'd like to let this go in light of recent events, but some people were making some really insensitive comments in response the Ronnie Radke post. I just wanted you let you guys know that the mother of Michael Cook (he's the one who got murdered) was reading them, and responding. Demanding you be sympathetic and understanding would contradict my earlier post about Heath Ledger's death (and why we don't mourn the faceless), but I did want to bring to your attention and humanize the sitch a bit-- because this really is a larger issue than "no more vocals from Ronnie" or whatever. The following is some of her commentary:

I would like to thank those of you that realize a person died that day (my son). Ronnie did not pull the trigger that killed my son, but he did challenge Marcel to a fight and did bring his best friend who not only had a gun but also had a bandana over his face. You cannot tell me that Ronnie did not know this... he was in the same truck!

I have already seen posts that blame me for ruining teenagers lives and posts saying "f*** that bitches son- people care more about Escape The Fate than her gay @ss son". To those people... you don't know me or my son and I will try not to take these attacks to heart. Read more...

Heath death affects White House

It's not often I say GOOD FORM, especially to like, The White House, but...

The death of actor Heath Ledger prompted the White House to postpone President Bush's event on Wednesday promoting an ad campaign aimed at preventing prescription drug abuse.

Ledger, 28, who was nominated for an Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain," was found dead Tuesday in his New York apartment. There were sleeping pills near him, but the cause of his death remains under investigation.

The president was to make a statement in the Roosevelt Room... read on...

Lily Allen goes back to work

Even though Lily Allen suffered a miscarriage just last week, she's shooting the pilot for her show "Lily and Friends" this week.

She has insisted on coming back to work,” a BBC insider tells Us. “Obviously it’s tough for her right now, but she is a professional and sees going back to work as a way to focus on something else. (POTP)

I think that's very brave of her. Hopefully getting her mind off the loss will help her recover. I still wish I could watch that show! I'll expect reports from the kids across the pond.

Oh and I'll be adding more snaps to the Lily gallery today.

Heath Ledger dies at 28

Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has died in New York. He was found nude in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at about 3:30 p.m. Police are telling media outlets the possibility of a drug overdose is being investigated and that over-the-counter sleeping pills were spotted near his bed. Officials have also said they believe it is not a crime scene. The 28-year-old actor has a two-year-old daughter with former fiancee Michelle Williams.

Oh... my God. This is SAD.

Weighing in on Ronnie Radke's situation

Holy mother of drama in the comments! I can't even keep up with all the opinions and arguments that flew around in response to the Ronnie Radke sentencing item.

I've decided to simplify it for you (or really, me)-- I'll give you two verdicts. You copy and paste the code of your choice into the comments. Handcuffs if you think he was let off easy for the involvement in Michael Cook's death; get out of jail free card if you think his ruling was unfair (before you freak out, NOTED that he wasn't sentenced to jail... I just couldn't find a "get out of probation/fines/etc" card, obvi)

Handcuffs (he deserves it):
<img src="http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/pages/handcuffs.jpg">

Get outta jail free card (ruling was unfair):

Just letting you guys know, Adam and Chauntelle are parting ways. This sad news is tough to broadcast - whether to friends or on-line to fans, but... life happens. Chauntelle is probably not going to express herself artistically like Sherri did less than one month ago at the advent of similar sad news - thus, this post serves to inform Eisley's core base on Laughing City of the disengagement. My 50 favorite songs of 2007

First off, I forgot to post this like, a month ago and someone just reminded me. *This does not necessarily mean THE BEST, or even that they were released in 2007. It does, however, mean they represent moments-- of car singing, chair-dancing, live shows, Gossip Girl-watching, bad-day headphone blasting, break ups, bdays and so on. They are the best representations of my life, of Warped Tour, of my best times with best friends. In some cases, they even represent the worst times. I appreciate those songs for capturing that bundle of feelings, and for the fact that I can crawl back into the song, re-experience it in a sense, and crawl back out knowing that I'm a better person for having lived through and learned from that experience. Without further ado, The Fifty:

50. we used to be friends - the dandy warhols
49. well well well - sondre lerche

Re: "Whichever illness You Have" bulletin

Look. I get that you have time on your hands. I get that some surveys and quizzes are fun. I get that in the whole process of self-discovery is tough and sometimes seemingly pointless activities like that help us understand ourselves.

But bragging/competing/poking fun at disorders and illnesses? Come on now, girls.

For those of you out of the loop, there's a bulletin going around titled, "Whichever illness You Have The Most X's in, As Your Bulliton's Title Write. I Am ______ . That is My illness" The categories are Anorexia, ADHD, Bulimia, Bipolar disorder, conduct disorder, OCD and schizophrenia. There are 6-10 "symptoms" aside each category-- and as someone who has studied psychology, has been sent to trainings (because I worked with teens at my last job), and been to therapy myself, I can tell you these 'symptoms' were NOT drawn up by a professional.

If you are genuinely concerned that you may be affected by one of these disorders, there are a WEALTH of resources. School counselers, forums, doctors, reading material, hotlines, etc.

But I'm calling bullsh*t on that bulletin.

I get that you're trying to figure out who you are. I get that adhering to any label feels better than now knowing sometimes. I get that you're reaching out because you don't know how else to get attention. I honestly get it.

Now knock it off.

Sugababe Amelle Berrabah arrested

This whole article is just full of WTF:

Sugababe Amelle Berrabah was arrested yesterday after allegedly launching a frenzied attack on a woman's car.

The fracas was in Aldershot, Hants, where police said: "A 23-year-old woman from London was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and public order offences. She has been bailed to appear at Aldershot police station on February 21." Bandmates Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range have so far stood by troubled Amelle, who joined Sugababes in 2006.

Her boyfriend Freddie Fuller, 25, is recovering in hospital from a horrific Christmas Eve machete attack.

Before that Freddie was cleared of allegations of raping Amelle's sister Samiya, 20, and another sister Zakiya, 34, was accused of stealing cash and credit cards.

1. What does a frenzied attack on a car involve? An umbrella? Keys? A baseball bat? I'm going to need details.

2. Is it terrible that I thought a machete was a type of gun until like 2 weeks ago?

3. Who attacked the dude with a machete?! My God!

Are you ready for the Richie-Madden baby?

Since I'm all up in everyone's baby-business today, this is just a friendly reminder that Nicole Richie is gonna pop any day now.

Josh Madden said the baby is due “sometime in the next week.” He added, “That’s all we know. We don’t know what [gender] it is. We don’t know any names. I’m being completely honest, I swear!” (PopCrunch)

Which brings me to the question... who the eff is Josh Madden? I was unaware of his existence until today.

You know why this is exciting for me? Because they don't know if it's a boy or a girl. When I was little they had these dolls called Magic Nursery Babies and you didn't know their sex until you bought it and took off the hat thing and opened the envelope. I got a girl both times and I was so stoked! I named them (my favorite part)... and then a week later they we're in the bottom of my toybox.

Anyway, woohoooo Richie-Madden baby! I hope it's a girl and I hope they don't name it anything too weird.

Johnny Depp talks music in RS

What was the first record you bought?

I don't know if I bought it, but the first record I remember listening to nonstop, oddly, was Dean Martin, Everybody Loves Somebody. And then Boots Randolph. And then the record album of Blackbeard's Ghost, with Peter Ustinov. I'd never seen the film — I didn't see it until I was in my late thirties. But I knew it verbatim. Slightly ironic. And then I turned that corner into preteen and I remember listening to Frampton Comes Alive! too much. My brother's ten years older than me. He grabbed the needle off the album and there was this horrific noise — wrrrraarrrar. He said, "Listen, man, you're killing me. Try this." And he put on Van Morrison's Astral Weeks. And it stirred me. I'd never heard anything like it. (Oh Johnny, you the man...)

He'd make such a good rock star. A better pirate, obviously, but yeah.
