Jonas Brothers bring the screaming teens to Kimmel

HOLLYWOOD — Last night the Jonas Brothers were guests and performers on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" — and guys? I've never seen more people for any other band or guest in my entirety of Kimmel experiences. I've been like 20 times, and I thought No Doubt was packed when they were there. Pshyeahhh right! There were fans inside the performance area (as seen above), fans outside the gates (some people camped overnight!), fans gated off on both sides of the back entrance alley hoping to catch a glimpse of the JoBros. Insanity, I tell you! Read more...

Panic at the Disco discuss other Pretty. Odd. influences

Enough with the Beatles comparisons! RollingStone.com has a flipbook that takes a look at other elements of music and pop culture that played a part in the creation of Panic at the Disco's Pretty. Odd. Among them are Bob Dylan, Alice in Wonderland, Irish folk music, renaissance faires and Federico Fellini. OK, and they include the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's album, but that warrants a big fat "thank you, captain obvious!" at this point. Read more...

All Time Low keep pop-punk alive with L.A. show

HOLLYWOOD-- Tuesday night the Alternative Press tour hit Tinsel Town! It started kind of ridiculously early (anyone who caught Forever The Sickest Kids or Sonny, drop a comment and I’ll include your review!), but I dashed in as those glorious boys from The Matches were taking the stage. The design school dropout in me gets giddy about their color coordination. OK, and red/black/white is my favorite color scheme. Read more...

Britney Spears loses her head on 'South Park'

Wednesday night's episode of "South Park" featured a headless Britney Spears recording 'Blackout'. As much as I love that album (and not South Park), it's a pretty spot-on commentary about the timing of its recording, given Britney's mental state. I didn't laugh, though—I cringed. Because I don't imagine the simultaneous trash-talking and pushing are that much of stretch. If you missed the episode, E! has a rundown-- they closed out by deciding to leave Brit alone and instead set their sights on Miley Cyrus. Gimmie gimmie more on Britney...

I ADORE the Matches' A Band in Hope. I know, I know—I’m a sucker for the happy sh--, and it may just be that I seek it out, but I really dig the ATTITUDE on this record. I like that The Matches worked with a theme (hope/the future/morning) and were able to weave it through as opposed to getting high school guidance-counselor-preachy about it. More "A-ha! I see what you did there," on the 3rd or 4th spin. Gimmie gimmie more...
