September 30, 2009Lauren Conrad's "L.A. Candy" To Become A MovieMy oh my, hasn't Lauren Conrad come a long way since rivaling K-Cav in her hometown of Laguna Beach? You know her best as the central (and perhaps most well-liked) blond on MTV's The Hills, but since she politely bowed out of Season 6 she launched a few fashion lines and wrote a book. And the screen rights to that book have been bought by Temple Hill Entertainment. Yeah, really...

"New Moon" Soundtrack Goes IndieThe gospel known as Stephenie Meyer's website has announced the official tracklisting for the New Moon soundtrack. If you're an indie hipster music snob (circle one or all), brace yourself for disgust and Twitter-trending outrage. If you're a common scene kid who is really into Twilight, brace yourself for bewilderment. And if you're completely indifferent, ask yourself: Does a movie soundtrack really have enough power to sway a generation of Young Adult readers to an entirely different genre of music? Here we go...

September 3, 2009Tumbledown @ The Knitting Factory 9/2/09There's something about Mike Herrera that makes him my ideal punk rock boyfriend. The tatts, the piercings, a punk rock band that's outlasted nearly every next-big-thing in the scene… and the cheeseball songs. Move To Bremerton? Yes. Do Your Feet Hurt? I'll never get tired of it. I even swoon a little over Call In Sick out of MxPx's less-loved 2005 album, Panic. Plus there's something admirable about a punk rock boy who doesn't abandon his roots (he still lives in Bremerton, unless that's a myth). He's not the kinda guy you'd catch snorting coke off some random indie It girl, know what I mean? Read more...

If you manage to make it through Bella's emo phase without headdesking your way into a coma, there's a reward in the 3rd film--Jackson Rathbone. Tell me more...

Death Cab For Cutie: The Perfect Fit For "New Moon"?Pretentious Death Cab fans turned their heads to mainstream assimilating long ago, back when The O.C. intertwined them with lovable indie-nerd Seth Cohen (Adam Brody), so penning the title track for Twilight's second major installment, New Moon, shouldn't be a big deal, right? Well, we'll see. Read more...
